Career Pathways/Clusters

Career Pathways & Corresponding FLHS Academic Programs

The goal of the Forest Lake High School is to ensure that all students who begin as 10th grade students will graduate with the skills necessary to attend college without the need to take remedial classes in the areas of reading, writing, or mathematics once enrolled in college.  Each student will have the opportunity to pursue, at his/her own choice, a relevant high school program (career path) that will prepare him/her for a selective college or university or a demanding technical school or training program.

Every student should be coming to school prepared to work hard and, at the same time, thinking about what all this means. Why are they taking the classes they are taking? What skills are they learning that will prepare them for college and the world after high school? All of these questions must be driven by a dream and vision of the career each student would like to pursue after high school. We expect every student to enter a four-year or two-year college or university, or a training program after high school. Almost every meaningful career or job requires high level training and/or education. In order to support students in the process of planning for their future, we recommend that students complete the tasks listed below at each respective grade level.
