    Frequently Asked Questions

Why do some classes have many assignments listed in the grade book and others do not?
No two FLHS courses are alike. The volume of assignments/tests, and the speed at which they are corrected will vary from course to course and teacher to teacher.

What should I do if an assignment is listed as missing?
Discuss the missing assignment with your child. Once an assignment is turned in, it could be several days before a teacher corrects the work and records the mark in the grade book.

If a turned in assignment is listed as missing, and several days have passed since it was turned in, have your child ask the teacher about the status of the assignment. If these steps have not resolved your concern, contact the teacher directly.

What should I do if my child disputes an assignment/test score as listed in the grade book?
Discuss the concern with your child. Have your child discuss the concern with the teacher. If these steps have not resolved your concern, contact the teacher directly.

Why would I not be able to view grades for one/some of my child’s classes?
Parents should be able to view grades for every FLAHS class their child is enrolled in.When a teacher is working in their grade book, they have the ability to temporarily turn off the Parent View. If you are unable to view grades for a particular class for more than a few days, contact the teacher directly.

Courses taken at a location other than FLAHS (The Area Learning Center, Post Secondary Option, etc.) will not show in SchoolView.

Why are grades from the current school year not showing when I select Transcript?
Current year grades are not displayed under “Transcript." To view current year grades, select “Grades."
Current school year grades will be posted onto the transcript during the summer.

Can I print the transcript in SchoolView to send off to colleges and employers?
No. The transcript in SchoolView is unofficial. To request an official transcript contact the FLHS Student Services Office.

What should I do if I believe my child’s attendance in SchoolView is not accurate?
Discuss the concern with your child. Tell your child to clear the absence up with their teacher. If these steps have not resolved your concern, have your child contact their Dean.

What does it mean if I receive an email attendance alert from SchoolView?
An email alert is sent to you when your child is marked absent or tardy to class. You will be sent a maximum of one alert per day.
The email will contain no attendance data. It will tell you to check SchoolView.

What should I do if I receive an email attendance alert from SchoolView?Check your child’s attendance in SchoolView. If your child has been marked tardy or absent, recheck the mark later in the day to see if the attendance status has been changed. If by the end of the day, the attendance mark is still a concern, talk to your child about the attendance situation.

What if I receive an email attendance alert, but when I go to SchoolView attendance, my child has not been marked absent or tardy?
The email alert is sent when a student is marked absent or tardy to class. If the teacher changed their attendance status after the alert was sent, by the time you check attendance in SchoolView, you might see that they were actually present in class. Remember, the data in SchoolView is more current than the email alert.

What if I have children in multiple District 831 schools?
If you have children that go to more than one District 831 school, and more than one of the schools is using SchoolView, you will be asked to select a school when you first log on to SchoolView. If you wish to view data on your children who attend FLHS, select FLHS. The names of your children who attend FLHS will then appear. Click on their names to view the data.

Why does ALC show as a school choice when none of my children attends the ALC?
If your children attended summer school at FLHS, the ALC will appear as an option when you log on. To view your children’s data, do not select ALC. Instead, select FLHS.
